While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Euro-Med Monitor: Israel targeting the last safe havens for Palestinians in Gaza

Wednesday 14-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has said that Israel’s targeting and destruction of hospitals in Gaza constitutes the dismantling of life-saving infrastructure and the obliteration of the “last refuges” available to Palestinian civilians.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the rights group said that the disabling of Gaza’s European Hospital, shortly after the strike on Nasser Medical Complex, is part of a broader campaign of slow death and a push toward the complete collapse of Gaza.

According to the Geneva-based group, the attacks have resulted in the killing of over 35 Palestinians, including entire families wiped out either inside their homes or in the streets.

The organization stressed that Israeli forces deliberately blocked efforts to recover victims, directly targeting civil defense teams attempting rescue operations.

It also rejected Israel’s repeated claim of military use of hospitals, calling it a pre-written script used routinely to justify mass killings and systematic destruction.

Euro-Med said that the continued targeting of hospitals and Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure amounts to a war crime and a crime against humanity.

The Monitor called on all states to fulfill their legal obligations and to urgently act to halt the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

On Tuesday, more than 30 Palestinians were killed, with many others wounded or missing under the rubble, after Israeli forces carried out barrage fire strikes near Gaza’s European Hospital in Khan Younus.

According to Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense, rescue teams managed to retrieve 28 bodies following the intense bombardment, which particularly struck the area of the Al-Afghani family near the hospital.

Basal confirmed that the direct airstrikes and fire belts caused widespread destruction to civilian homes in the area.

The Israeli military renewed its bombardment after civil defense crews arrived at the site, resulting in injuries among rescue workers.

Around 90% of families in the Gaza Strip are facing severe water shortage

RAMALLAH, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that "90% of families in the Gaza Strip are facing severe water shortage,  due to the occupation's systematic destruction of infrastructure, as the aggression enters its 583rd day.

The same sources emphasized that the percentage of contaminated water samples has risen to more than 25%, leading to the spread of numerous diseases among citizens.

They pointed out that with the onset of summer and rising temperatures, the need for water, especially drinking water, increases, and resident communities in displacement sites are suffering catastrophic conditions due to the lack of available water sources.

They added that the cesspits designated for sewage increase the risk to the groundwater, as 90% of desalination plants are completely out of service.

They noted that 80% of sewage plants are out of service, increasing the rate of seawater pollution.

Palestinians worldwide mark 77th anniversary of the Nakba

RAMALLAH, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) –

Thousands of Palestinians commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Nakba of Palestine, " This commemoration is a rejection of the war of genocide and forced displacement, in defense of inalienable national rights, and in light of the ongoing targeting of the refugee issue, the camps, and UNRWA.

For the second year in a row, the anniversary of the Nakba comes at a very exceptional time, given the unprecedented catastrophic conditions the Gaza Strip are experiencing due to the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression for 583 days. This scene echoes the bloody massacres committed by the occupation in displaced Palestinian villages and towns.

Air raid siren sounded for 77 seconds in various Palestinian cities Wednesday, marking the number of years since the Nakba. Hundreds of Palestinians observed 77 seconds of silence during the sirens, commemorating the 77th anniversary of the Nakba.

The daily scene in the West Bank is also marked by bloodshed. The Israeli aggression machine hardly ceases its almost daily raids, destruction, killings, displacements, and detentions, accompanied by abuse, against Palestinian cities and villages.

This is particularly true of the ongoing assault on the Tulkarm and Jenin refugee camps, which has resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens, the displacement of more than 40,000 from their homes, and the systematic destruction of infrastructure.

Thousands of Palestinians participated in the central festival, which began in front of the tomb of the late martyr Yasser Arafat and headed toward Al-Manara Square. During the rally, the Palestinian flag, black banners, and the keys to return were raised.

The march, called for by the Department of Refugee Affairs and the Higher National Committee for Commemorating the Nakba, was also attended by members of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Central Committee of the Fatah Movement, members of the Revolutionary Council, national action factions, a number of ministers, and representatives of official and popular institutions and civil society organizations.

In a speech delivered on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, Mahmoud Al-Aloul, Deputy Chairman of the Fatah Movement and member of the Central Committee, said that the Nakba is the greatest crime committed in history, due to the scale and enormity of the massacres perpetrated against our people. Villages were annihilated, and a large portion were displaced both inside and outside the homeland.

He added that the suffering of our people continues, and the occupation is trying to subjugate them until they relinquish their rights and their cherished land. However, it will fail, as always, in the face of our people's steadfastness and sacrifices.

He continued, "We commemorate this anniversary under difficult circumstances.

"There is a more severe and painful catastrophe currently being experienced by our people in the Gaza Strip, where the occupation is claiming the lives of children and women, and is carrying out massacres, siege, and starvation."

Al-Aloul added, "The massacres are extending to the West Bank governorates, and settlers are wreaking terror against citizens, their land, and Islamic and Christian holy sites, under the protection of the occupation forces. This is in addition to the abuse of prisoners, which has resulted in the martyrdom of dozens of them in occupation prisons."

Death toll across Gaza Strip surges to 52,928, over 119,846 injured

GAZA, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) –

At least 20 Palestinians were killed and 125 others were injured in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocide in the region, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

The Ministry confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 2023 has risen to 52,928 martyrs, with an additional 119,846 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

According to the Ministry, the death toll since Israel’s resumption of the genocide on March 18 after a two-month truce has also climbed to 2,799, with nearly 7,805 reported wounded.

Emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews, according to the health authorities.

Dozens of Palestinians in Gaza massacred, injured in Israeli strikes in Jabalya

Wednesday 14-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

At least 50 people were martyred, and dozens were injured or reported missing early this morning in horrific massacres carried out by the Israeli occupation army following intense airstrikes on different neighborhoods in Jabalya refugee camp and Jabalya town in northern Gaza.

Gaza’s civil defense service said its crews evacuated dozens of casualties from different neighborhoods of Jabalya following Israeli airstrikes on homes and streets.

Images from inside the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza showed dozens of victims lying on the ground after they were evacuated from Jabalya camp and Jabalya town.

According to initial reports, at least 45 people have been killed and more than 100 others injured, including children and women, in the Israeli attacks in Jabalya.

Israeli bombardment kills several Palestinians, injuries others in Gaza

GAZA, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli bombardment on Wednesday killed several Palestinians and injured others across the Gaza Strip, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that Israeli bombing a tent sheltering displaced people at Al-Amal refugee camp in Jabalya in the northern Strip, claiming the lives of two civilians and injuring others.

He added that Israeli fighter jets conducted an airstrike targeting the vicinity of Badr Mosque in Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood of Gaza, resulting in a fatality and a number of casualties.

Meanwhile, Israeli bombing targeted the vicinity of the Abu Nuwaira school in 'Abasan Al-Jadeeda town, east of Gaza city, killing one and injuring others.

Israel unilaterally ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement and resumed its aggression on the Strip on Tuesday, March 18, carrying out a wave of bloody airstrikes across the Strip and killing hundreds of Palestinians, including over 100 children.

The death toll reached at least 2,799 with 7,805 others wounded, according to medical sources. In the last 24 hours, the bodies of 20 slain Palestinians, including a body retrieved from the rubble, and 125 casualties were admitted to hospitals in the Strip.

The aggression was resumed amidst concerns over the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Strip given the ongoing siege and ban on the entry of medical and humanitarian aid.

Israel has waged a military onslaught on the Strip since October 2023, killing 52,928 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 119,846 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Wednesday 14-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation army continued last night and on Wednesday to carry out deadly attacks on different areas of the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring dozens of civilians.

According to local media sources, Israeli forces also continued today to detonate more homes and displace families in the Gaza Strip, further deepening the dire humanitarian crisis as the population grapples with worsening famine.

According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporters in Gaza, Israeli attacks have continued across the Gaza Strip, including deadly airstrikes on several homes in northern Gaza that claimed the lives of at least 50 civilians and injured dozens, mostly women and children.

Two citizens were also killed and others were injured in an airstrike on a house near the European Hospital.

The Israeli army also committed a massacre in Khan Younus when it bombed a house belonging to the family of Abu Amouna. Ten members of the family were martyred, including parents and their five kids.

'Hamas: Israel using starvation as a weapon against over two million people

Wednesday 14-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Resistance Movement has accused Israel of continuing to use starvation as a weapon against more than 2.25 million people in the Gaza Strip, in blatant defiance of the international community, the United Nations, and its affiliated humanitarian agencies, which have repeatedly called for the opening of crossings and the entry of aid.

'Hamas said in a statement on Wednesday that the Israeli government has maintained a total blockade on Gaza for over seventy consecutive days, cutting off all access to necessities, including food, medicine, water, and fuel.

This closure, the statement added, coincides with an escalating and barbaric military assault, forming the pillars of what Hamas described as an act of genocide, committed openly and with impunity by Israeli forces under the gaze of the international community.

'Hamas further warned that the shameful international silence and the flagrant failure to halt war crimes or prevent widespread famine in Gaza reflect a dangerous collapse of the global order and its commitment to upholding international law and humanitarian principles.

The Movement stressed that Palestinians are being killed daily—either by bombardment or by starvation, while UN agencies limit themselves to hollow condemnations that fail to restrain what it described as a “criminal entity devoid of moral or human values.”

'Hamas called on the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations to take urgent and effective action to end the ongoing genocide and mass starvation, and to hold Israeli war criminals accountable for their actions.

'Hamas urges immediate int’l pressure to end Israel’s massacres in Gaza

Wednesday 14-May-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Resistance Movement has condemned the Israeli occupation army’s persistence in bombing inhabited homes and massacring families in Gaza Strip as a “brutal and fascist behavior that will bring no victory to war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu.”

In a statement on Wednesday, 'Hamas called on the international community and the Arab and Islamic countries to take immediate action and pressure for a halt to Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.

“The intensive airstrikes carried out by the fascist occupation army on northern Gaza in particular since dawn today, targeting densely populated areas, reflect a deliberate intent to continue the genocidal war against the defenseless people of Gaza,” 'Hamas said.

“Driven by his thirst for vengeance, terrorist Netanyahu is intensifying his aggression and massacres against innocent civilians in an attempt to derail ceasefire efforts and advance his political agenda,” the Movement added.

Palestinian youth shot, injured by the Israeli occupation forces near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) —

A boy was injured early Wednesday morning by rubber bullets during clashes with Israeli occupation forces following a raid on the town of Abwain, north of Ramallah.

The first aid station in the town reported that a 17-year-old boy was injured in the foot by a rubber bullet fired by the occupation forces during the clashes.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces raided several homes in the town, searched them, and ransacked their contents.

Israeli occupation forces kidnap youth from northern West Bank town

Toulkarm, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday kidnapped a Palestinian youth from the town of Qiffeen, north of the occupied West Bank city of Toulkarm, according to local sources.

They said that the gun-toting soldiers manning the ‘Anabta/'Einav checkpoint at the eastern entrance of the 'Anabta town, east of Toulkarm City, stopped and rounded up a young man.

In the predawn and morning hours today, the Israeli occupation forces detained 12 Palestinians in multiple raids across the occupied West Bank.

In the Hebron governorate, Israeli troops rounded up a Palestinian instead of protecting him from violence committed by Israeli colonists after the latter chopped down his olive trees in Susiya village, east of Yatta.

The Israeli occupation troops rounded up four others, including two brothers, and ransacked their houses in Southern Hebron City.

They also rounded up two brothers at the entrance of the Bani Na'im town, east of Hebron City, at a time when soldiers ransacked several houses in Al-Samou' town and interrogated their occupants.

Meanwhile, the sources confirmed a raid in Nablus City, resulting in the kidnapping of a Palestinian.

In the Jineen governorate, the Israeli occupation forces barged their way into Maythaloun, muscled inside several houses, conducted thorough searches, and rounded up two youths.

They conducted a similar raid in the Anza village, resulting in the kidnapping of two others.

The Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

According to the latest figures from Al-Dhameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 10,100 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including 400 child prisoners and 35 female prisoners.

This number includes approximately 3,577 Palestinians placed under “administrative detention”, which allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.

The mass arrest of Palestinians is nothing new. According to a 2017 report by Al-Dhameer, over the past 50 years, more than 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned or detained by Israel; this figure is now believed to be closer to 1 million. This means that about 40% of Palestinian men and boys living under military occupation have been deprived of their freedom. Almost every Palestinian family has suffered the imprisonment of a loved one.

Jineen: Israeli aggression continues for the 114th day in a row

Jineen, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) —

The Israeli occupation army continues to expand its bulldozing and destruction operations inside Jineen refugee camp, altering its features and obliterating its identity, while continuing to prevent entry and access to the camp.

The Jineen Municipality estimates that as the aggression enters its 114th day, the occupation authorities have completely demolished approximately 600 homes in the camp, while the rest have been partially damaged and rendered uninhabitable.

The Israeli occupation forces continue to fire live ammunition intensively in the refugee camp.

WAFA correspondent noted that the effects of the occupation's aggression were not limited to the camp alone, but extended to the city of Jenin, causing significant damage to facilities, homes, and infrastructure, especially in the eastern neighborhood and the Al-Hadaf neighborhood.

She noted that, in light of the ongoing aggression, families from the camp, as well as hundreds of families from the city and its surroundings, are still being forcibly displaced.

The Jineen Municipality indicates that the number of displaced persons from the camp and the city has exceeded 22,000.

The economic situation in Jenin is also deteriorating, with heavy commercial losses resulting from the aggression estimated at approximately $300 million so far.

Many shops have been forced to close due to bulldozing and the destruction of infrastructure and streets, particularly in the western neighborhoods, which are experiencing near-total economic paralysis. This is in addition to the decline in shopping traffic coming into the city from outside.

On the ground, villages in Jenin Governorate are witnessing almost daily raids as the aggression against the city and camp continues.

These raids are being recorded daily in most villages of the governorate, along with the constant presence of occupation patrols and vehicles.

This morning, forces detained four young men from 'Anza and Maythaloun, south of Jenin. The occupation forces patrolled the streets of the Interior Roundabout and the surrounding areas of the camp, especially near Jineen Governmental Hospital. The occupation forces also raided the town of Silat Al-'Harithiya and fired live ammunition at civilians.

Since the beginning of the aggression on the city and camp on January 21, 2020, 40 people have been killed, along with dozens more injured and detained.

Israeli occupation forces continue their massive demolition spree in Nour Shams refugee camp

Toulkarm, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday continued their massive spree of home demolitions in the Nour Shams refugee camp, east of the occupied West Bank city of Toulkarm, according to local sources.

They said that the occupation forces proceeded with the demolition of Palestinians’ houses and residential buildings in the refugee camp as the military aggression on the camp entered the 95th consecutive day.

Israeli bulldozers tore down residential buildings in the vicinity of the Abu Bakr Al-Siddeeq mosque, at a time when infantry soldiers deployed on a large scale and opened live ammunition at Palestinian civilians and even at media personnel.

The gun-toting soldiers obstructed residents from entering the refugee camp to retrieve their belongings before the demolition of their houses.

Local estimates indicate that Israeli army bulldozers tore down 20 structures in the previous week, and the occupation troops blew up other residential structures whose owners were displaced.

On 1 May, the occupying forces issued military orders to demolish 106 Palestinian-owned structures in Toulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps, allowing residents 24 hours to evacuate and prompting UNRWA Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, to warn: “These demolition orders, if enacted, would further entrench the displacement of thousands of Palestine Refugees in the northern West Bank... They serve punitive and coercive objectives, targeting entire communities.”

Israel initiated intensified military aggression on the northern West Bank refugee camps of Jineen, Toulkarm, Nour Shams and Al-Fari'a on January 21, 2025, displacing over 40,000 Palestinians, who are now sheltering in public buildings, relatives' houses, or rented accommodations.

Israel previously launched a mass demolition of Palestinian structures in Toulkarm during the first week of March 2025, tearing down dozens of structures across both camps, after the demolitions were announced on 18 February.

Israeli aggression on Toulkarm enters its 108th day admit escalation

Toulkarm, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) —

The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Toulkarm and its refugee camp for the 108th consecutive day, while they continue on the Nour Shams camp for the 95th day, amid increasing field escalation and ongoing military reinforcements.

WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces deployed military vehicles toward the city and its two camps from the Nitzani Oz checkpoint gate to the west, patrolling the main streets, provocatively honking their horns, deliberately driving against traffic, and obstructing the movement of citizens and vehicles.

She added that the city is seeing a large presence of infantry units, especially on Nablus Street along the road connecting the Tulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps, heading back and forth towards Al-Shuwaika roundabout and Al-Aleemi Street, obstructing the movement of citizens and vehicles.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces continue their escalation on the ground in the Toulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps, amidst a tight siege, preventing residents from entering to inspect their homes or take any of their necessities. This has been accompanied by the sound of explosions, live ammunition, and sound bombs throughout the area.

Over the past few days, Nour Shams refugee camp has witnessed widespread demolition and destruction of residential buildings in the neighborhoods of Al-Manshiya, Al-Maslakh, Al-Jami', Al-'Iyada, and Al-Shuhada.

This is part of the occupation's plan to demolish 106 homes and residential buildings in the Toulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps. Tension remains high in the camp, with residents anticipating a new wave of demolitions following their forced displacement from their homes.

The occupation continues to seize homes and residential buildings on Nablus Street and the adjacent northern neighborhood, transforming them into military barracks after forcing residents to evacuate. Meanwhile, military vehicles remain stationed in the area, some of which have remained under occupation control for more than two months.

The ongoing Israeli aggression and escalation on the city of Toulkarm and its two camps has resulted in the deaths of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant.

Dozens have also been injured and detained, and the infrastructure has been extensively destroyed, with homes, shops, and vehicles subjected to total and partial demolition, arson, vandalism, looting, and theft.

The aggression has also resulted in the forced displacement of more than 4,200 families from the Toulkarm and Nour Shams refugee camps, comprising over 25,000 residents. Over 400 homes have been completely destroyed, and 2,573 others partially destroyed. Their entrances and alleys have been sealed off with earth mounds, transforming them into isolated areas devoid of any sign of life.

France's Macron says situation in Gaza is "unacceptable and horrific humanitarian tragedy"

French President Emmanuel Macron last night described the situation in the Gaza Strip as an "unacceptable and horrific humanitarian tragedy," demanding an end to it.

In an interview with French television channel TF1, Macron, who appeared moved after a video of an emergency doctor describing the tragic situation in Gaza, said, "There is no water, no medicine, the wounded cannot be evacuated: what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is doing is a disgrace."

He called for pressure to be applied on Israel and for a review of its partnership agreements with the European Union.

UK: Israel has the obligation to implement ICJ provisional measures

LONDON, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) –

British Minister for the Middle East Hamish Falconer said on Wednesday that Israel has the obligation to implement the set of provisional measures issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

In a statement on Gaza to the British House of Commons, Falconer called on Israel to “lift the block on aid entering Gaza now,” stressing that “Israel’s denial of aid is appalling.”

“Tonnes of food are currently sitting rotting at the Gaza/Israel border, blocked from reaching people who are starving,” he added.

Falconer noted that Israeli ministers have said that Israel’s decision to block this aid was a “pressure lever”, affirming that “this is cruel and it is indefensible.”

“Overnight yet more Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes,” he added, while reiterating that “This must end”.

Falconer pointed out that the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel in the ICJ on charges of genocide was still ongoing, noting that “we support the ICJ. We support its independence. The ICJ issued a set of provisional measures in this case and we support those measures.”

Spanish Consul-General inspects first-hand destruction wrought on Tulkarm

TULKARM, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) –

Spanish Consul-General José Javier Gutiérrez Blanco-Navarrete on Wednesday inspected first-hand the destruction wrought by Israeli occupation forces on the occupied West Bank governorate of Tulkarm.

Spain’s Consul-General to Jerusalem Blanco-Navarrete made his way to Toulkarm to inspect first-hand the situation, particularly in the Nour Shams and Toulkarm refugee camps, given the ongoing Israeli military aggression on them.

He listened to a presentation on the situation, with a focus on closure, military checkpoints, colonists’ attacks, the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure, large-scale house demolitions, and the ensuing forced displacement of over 40,000 Palestinians.

Deputy Governor, Faisal Salama, briefed the top Spanish diplomat on the economic repercussions of the Israeli aggression for Palestinians, particularly the soaring unemployment rates due to the fact that thousands of workers who used to work in the 1948 Territories lost their jobs, the halting of the issuance of entry permits for workers, the stifling economic growth and the closure, which made markets and businesses in the governorate inaccessible to Palestinian citizens the 1948 Territories.

The Spanish Consul-General Blanco-Navarrete stated that he made this visit within the framework of partnership and cooperation, stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation and consultation with the Palestinian side, and commended Spanish-Palestinian relations.

Denmark urges Israel to assume its humanitarian responsibilities towards Gaza

Wednesday 14-May-2025

COPENHAGEN, (PIC)

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen stressed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s announcement of the resumption of fighting in Gaza is dangerous and contrary to all international conventions.

In statements broadcast on Danish television on Wednesday, Rasmussen expressed his dismay at what he called “Netanyahu’s provocative plans in Gaza,” stressing that they “violate all applicable international rules.”

Earlier, Netanyahu said there would be no end to the war on Gaza, but that a “ceasefire for a limited time to free prisoners from Gaza” could be reached, after which the fighting would resume until the end.

“We will move towards achieving total victory in the Gaza Strip, and we will enter with full force in the coming days to complete the defeat of Hamas,” Netanyahu added in a statement carried by Israeli media on Tuesday.

In this context, Rasmussen expressed his dismay at what he considered Israel’s evasion of its responsibilities, saying, “It must shoulder its obligations in Gaza, which are unfulfilled, and I am not exaggerating when I express my dismay.”

He pointed out that “the idea of launching an attack and forcibly displacing Palestinians is contrary to everything that is [internationally] right, and we strongly reject it,” adding that “his (Netanyahu’s) statement is a message to the entire international community, and provocatively coincides with the start of US President (Donald) Trump’s Middle East tour.”

Rasmussen’s comments come after he expressed optimism that the war in Gaza would end following the release of Israeli-US prisoner Edan Alexander on Monday.

He also stressed that Israel must ensure emergency aid entry into Gaza, saying, “No emergency aid has reached Gaza for more than 60 days, which runs contrary to Israel’s commitments.”

Denmark pursues a cautious policy regarding condemnation of Israel in its war on the Gaza Strip, although it criticizes settler violence in the West Bank and continues to speak of the need for an independent Palestinian state.

Human rights and popular organizations also continue to criticize the government for continuing to grant export licenses for sensitive equipment used in F-35 aircraft and for the ongoing arms transport to Israel by the shipping giant Maersk, despite warnings that Copenhagen risks prosecution for its possible involvement in war crimes in Gaza.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
